Your Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso:
On the occasion of Your 90th birthday, I extend our highest respect and heartfelt congratulations on behalf of all members of the Chinese Alliance for Democracy.
For nine decades, you have walked the path of compassion and wisdom. With unwavering conviction and profound teachings, you have led the Tibetan people through trials and upheavals, preserving their cultural identity, spiritual heritage, and human dignity. Your steadfast commitment to nonviolence and the “Middle Way” not only serves the Tibetan cause, but also offers a beacon of peaceful resistance to the world.
We understand that the continuation of the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation is not merely a matter of tradition—it is vital to the spiritual lifeblood of the Tibetan people. Your solemn statements on this matter show deep respect for the will of the people, responsibility to history, and dedication to the sacred lineage.
